A. Money Market
ICBC Seoul Branch offers active quotation to the money market and has gained the reputation of being among the largest foreign bank branches in Korea. We provide financial transactions of various tenors and have a strong track record in RMB transactions.

B. RMB/KRW Direct Trading Market Maker
The Korean government launched the RMB/KRW direct market in 2014 in order to enhance the efficiency of the financial market and support trade between the two countries. The ICBC Seoul Branch was designated as a RMB/KRW direct market maker bank in December 2014 and through its considerable trade volume, is supplying liquidity in this market. Our branch is enlarging our exchange capacity in this market and meeting clients’ various needs. Also, we are more than prepared to efficiently assist the execution of RMB-related businesses.


C. Refinancing of Overseas Financial Institutions

Upon receipt of refinance request from correspondent bank regarding trade finance transactions, ICBC Seoul Branch provides financing facility and payment services for the settlement of international trade. On maturity date of the finance, FI customers repay principal and interest to ICBC Seoul.

D. Risk Participation under Trade Finance

Under risk participation agreement, ICBC Seoul participates in trade finance transaction as requested by inviting bank.  Underlying transactions include import L/C, import documentary collection, forfaiting, export documentary collection, T/T financing, etc.

 

E. Secondhand Forfaiting

As the forfaiter, ICBC Seoul branch purchases or sell down usance payment instrument accepted/committed to pay by the issuing/confirming bank.

F. FIs Deposit
This is a deposit in which a financial institution (client) and our bank agree upon terms and interest rates prior to the deposit. Upon the date of maturity, the principal amount and accrued interest can be withdrawn. Various currencies, including USD, KRW, and RMB, can be used to make deposits.
